In 1892, Sophia R. Willis, 14 (along with sister, Mabel J. Willis, 14), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 127 Barnardo girls en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

On September 4, 1900, at Ivanhoe United Church, Hastings, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Mable Willis, 20, born in London, England, to Thomas Willis and Jane Bryant; and Mason Twiddy, 21, farmer, born in Huntingdon, Ontario, Canada, to Samuel Twiddy and Martha Eggleton.

Durlan Mason and Mabel Jane Willis Twiddy had at least 4 children: Alberta Mae Twiddy, born May 4, 1901 - died April 2, 1915 of tuberculosis; Baby Twiddy, born March 8, 1909 - died April 11, 1909; Russel Mason Twiddy, born September 26, 1902; and Florence Annie Twiddy, born February 8, 1904.

Durlan Mason Twiddy died in 1961 in Huntingdon Township, Hastings, Ontario, Canada. Mabel Jane Willis Twiddy died in 1965 in Huntingdon Township, Hastings, Ontario, Canada. They are both buried at White Lake Cemetery, Huntingdon Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada.
