NotesJ.F. Reisig was released from Württemberg nationality on 16th February 1884 (Kreisregierung Ellwangen No. 925). He emigrated to England at the age of 16 and a half years.He came to England without any knowledge of English.On 23rd November 1890 he married Karoline Grün (Caroline Green) of Windisch Brachbach at the church of St. Giles in Liverpool. Karoline Green was the sister of the pork butcher George Michael Green in Congleton. The couple had seven children: Frederick 1891, Anna 24 Mar 1892, Rose 1893, Christine Flora 1894-1896, John Charles 1900, Sophia Anna R 1907-1907 and Caroline Frida 1907. Charles.J.F.Reisig became naturalized on 1st Dec. 1896 (Cert.No.9410) and unofficially changed his name to Roberts in 1919, having applied in 1916.
