When Maria married Matthew Caveney on 3 Oct 1896 he was a miner. Then he became a pork butcher.
In the 1901 England and Wales Census it was indicated that 25-year-old Steven Kaiser, Mary's younger brother, was living with the Caveneys and also working as a pork Butcher on Front Street in Stanley. Beamish St Andrew Parish.
