NotesIn 1887, Henry Bell, 12, arrived at New Brunswick, Canada, in a group of 10 boys from Barton Regis, Bristol, England, en route to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

"Report of Mr. Samuel Gardner, Government Immigration Agent at St. John, New Brunswick.

Harry Bell, aged 12. From parish of St. Pancras. Placed with Jas. Carter, Kennebeccasis Island, near Milkish, King's County.?This lad looks bright, has been well all the time, has a good home. Mr. and Mrs. Carter much attached to him, no sons of their own, one daughter only. The lad likes his place much, would not leave it on any account; it is more than probable he will grow up to manhood on the place and then work the farm as his own."
