In 1887, Michael Cassidy, 6, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 129 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Michael Cassady, aged 6. From parish of Liverpool. Placed with Joseph Joseph, Lot 15 in 4th, Con., Pilkington Tp., Wessenburg P.O. ?Good every way, quick at learning, no fault, had sore eyes, now better, attending school, in 1st reader, pleased with his home and treatment.

Michael Cassidy, aged 10. From parish of Liverpool. Placed with Joseph Joseph, Pilkington, Con. 4. ? Did not suit, and went to Mr. Gregory Kloeper. Was very hard to manage, and difficult to get along with at first, but doing much better now. Has a good home."
