He declared that he had been born in Aylesbury, England; that his next of kin was Arthur Philby who resided at Faehenburg Station, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was May 31, 1894; that he was a farmer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 3 inches in height; fresh complexion; blue eyes; fair hair. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
